Jersey City Senior Threatened to Kill Union City Man in Church Square Park Restroom

72-year old James Allen of Jersey City has been arrested by Hoboken Police for threatening to kill a Union City man with a knife in Church Square Park in Hoboken.  According to Detective / Lieutenant Danilo Cabrera, Allen was arrested at 2:06 on Tuesday afternoon.  He has been charged with terroristic threats, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon

According to Cabrera, at 1:52 PM, three members of the Hoboken Police Department were dispatched to Church Square Park on a report of a male who had threatened another male with a knife.  When police arrived, the alleged actor was pointed out by the complainant. The alleged actor was identified as Allen.

The complainant from Union City was with his wife and reported he had stopped to use the public restroom in the park. As he entered, he noticed Allen inside. An argument initiated over the use of the bathroom.   Cabrera says during the argument, Allen brandished a knife and threatened to kill the complainant.

An on scene investigation was conducted by the officers which led to Allen’s arrest.  The charges against Allen were placed on a warrant and he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

Allen is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
