Big health care news coming out of Jersey City, as the Jersey City Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program has announced the launch of a new satellite clinic in partnership with Metropolitan Family Health Network (MFHN).   Starting on Thursday, October 2, 2025, the clinic will operate every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., expanding access to critical nutrition and support services for Jersey City families.

In a press release, Mayor Steven Fulop said, “The new clinic reflects Jersey City’s ongoing commitment to making equitable healthcare more accessible and supportive for every resident.  It will connect families, especially new and expecting mothers, with the care and support they deserve to stay healthy.”

“This collaboration represents an important step forward in making health and nutrition resources more accessible for our community,” said Stacey Flanagan, Director of Health and Human Services. “By working with Metropolitan Family Health Network, we are removing barriers such as transportation and multiple appointments, ensuring families can access the support they need in one trusted location.”

By integrating WIC into MFHN, families will benefit from simplified access, multiple essential services under one roof, and an improved overall patient experience.

“All of us at Metropolitan Family Health Network are dedicated to providing the complete care and resources families need to thrive,” said MFHN President and CEO Joan Dublin, RN, MPA, ACHE. “This partnership makes it possible to offer WIC services on-site, where families consult with our pediatricians, obstetricians, and dietitian. It augments assurance of healthier pregnancies, healthier children, and healthier families. We are pleased for this opportunity.”

This marks the opening of the first WIC satellite location since the COVID-19 pandemic. The clinic will also play an important role in supporting residents who are new to the community, including those unfamiliar with available resources.

Under the US Department of Agriculture, WIC supports families by providing free healthy foods, breastfeeding support, nutrition education, and referrals.

WIC and MFHN look forward to continuing their partnership and serving the needs of families across Jersey City.
