Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced the arrest of 19-year-old North Bergen resident Edgar Rompich-Ramos on charges related to alleged sex crimes involving a juvenile female.

Rompich-Ramos was taken into custody by members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit following accusations of committing sex offenses at a North Bergen residence in 2023 when the victim was 11 years old.

The charges against Rompich-Ramos include Aggravated Sexual Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child/Facilitating Child Sex Abuse Material, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Rompich-Ramos was apprehended without incident at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and is currently held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his initial court appearance, scheduled for Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
