The township of North Bergen held its annual Memorial Day observance in Braddock Park along Bergenline Avenue this afternoon. The ceremony, attended by Mayor Nicholas Sacco and the Board of Commissioners, members of the township’s Police Department and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, veterans and other local officials, paid tribute to veterans of past wars who made the ultimate sacrifice, along with present military personnel.
The message was simple. Never forget the sacrifices made by those who fought in past wars to preserve our freedom and democracy. This afternoon’s ceremony drew at least a hundred individuals.
So, as you celebrate the holiday, whether its with a cookout, a trip to the beach or to the mall, take a moment to reflect on what you have, and say thank you, whether in your heart, or to a veteran in person, or all they have done to make our nation what it is today.
