A North Bergen woman was arrested early this morning in Hoboken after crashing her vehicle on Sinatra Drive in Hoboken. According to Police Detective / Lieutenant Danilo Cabrera, 32-year old Carla Uquillas was found unconscious in her running vehicle at 316 Sinatra Drive shortly past 1 a.m.
According to Cabrera, this morning at about 1:08 AM, Hoboken Police responded to Sinatra Drive for a motor vehicle crash, with an unconscious female inside the striking vehicle. Upon arriving on at scene, officers located a 2009 Toyota Camry parked perpendicular across Sinatra Drive. The vehicle had crashed with a parked motor vehicle. The engine was still running and police found an unresponsive female bent over inside the locked vehicle.
Officers used a device to break a rear window. The Hoboken Volunteer First Aid Squad hen provided medical care and the female was identified as Uquillas. Police developed probable cause to believe that Uquillas was under the influence of an intoxicant and placed her under arrest.
The ambulance transported Uquillas to the Jersey City Medical Center where a telephonic search warrant for blood as issued. She received three motor vehicle summons and has been charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and being an unlicensed driver. She is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
