On March 2, 2023, at 3:11 P.M., Secaucus Police received a report of a man walking around Kohl’s at 3 Millcreek Drive, committing lewd acts in view of the public, including children under the age of thirteen. The man, later identified as Christopher Honnold, 27, of Smithtown, NY, was approached by a Loss Prevention Officer and subsequently left the store.
Following a thorough investigation by the Secaucus Police Detective Division, Honnold surrendered himself on March 6, 2023. He was charged with Sexual Assault [2C:14-2(b)] and Criminal Sexual Contact [2C:14-3b] and was subsequently lodged in the Hudson County Jail.
Chief Dennis Miller of the Secaucus Police Department commended his detective division for their swift work in identifying Honnold. “While his actions are quite disturbing, he will be held accountable for his crimes,” Miller said.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Secaucus Police Detective Division at (201) 330-2052 or detectivedivsion@secaucusnjpolice.gov. It is important to note that these charges are merely accusations, and Honnold is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
