Agresión sexual en Jersey City bajo investigación

A sexual assault that occurred in Jersey City on Sunday, June 2, 2024 is currently under investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, a 22-year-old female victim reported that during the morning hours, she was approached by an unknown man in a Journal Square neighborhood.   The female entered the white vehicle the man was operating.

At approximately 7 am, Suarez says the man drove the victim a short distance to the area of Division and Eighth Streets, where the woman reported being sexually assaulted inside the vehicle.

A person of interest has has been identified in the early stages of this investigation.

Suarez says the matter remains under investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.  Anyone with information regarding this matter, or wishing to report a sex crime, should call the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) at 201-915-1234.
